U.S. Highway 67 opened the new location just south of Walnut Ridge on August 11, 2016. U.S. 67 previously ended at Arkansas Highway 226 at Cash before continuing in Walnut Ridge/Hoxie, and heading north.
Congressman Rick Crawford said the opening is good for the entire region. “Economic development takes place better on paved, 4-lane roads,” Crawford said. “What we’ve seen here is the realization of decades of planning to make us a little more connected to the broader economy of the state.”
